The game's developmental roadmap indicates several planned expansions, featuring advanced entity behaviors and new environments.6 The upcoming Headhunter entity is a tall, grey, vine-covered humanoid that lacks a head and has a 1-in-100 chance of spawning anywhere in the Lobby.6 Its behavior is governed by four distinct algorithmic phases 6:
- Searching: The entity slowly walks toward the nearest player coordinates in the Lobby.6
- Stalking: Triggered when a player enters a 120-stud radius.6 The target has a 3-to-5-minute window to break the lock by leaving the Lobby or using the Level Selector.6 If another player steps within 25 studs of the Headhunter during this phase, it instantly switches targets and escalates to the Hunting phase.6
- Hunting: For 1 to 2 minutes, the entity pursues its target.6 If the target player looks directly at the Headhunter during this chase, it programmatically increases its movement speed.6
- Mimicking: If the hunt is successful, the Headhunter wears the victim's head and runs a modified stalking sequence for 3 minutes before reverting to standard behavior.6
Another planned addition is Captain Clark Still Life, also known as "The Captain," who is designed to replace the buggy Still Life entity.6 He is expected to spawn in the upcoming basement expansion of the Dead Mall, which will serve as the Familiar Hell sublevel.6 Other planned levels include Pipe Dreams, based on Backrooms Level 2, which will be accessed from a blocked hallway in the Lobby and may feature Mimic and Smiler spawns.7 Finally, the You Cheated zone is planned as an anti-cheat prison that is entirely exempt from Mimic spawn parts.6
